From earliest times, people have used fabrics of various types for covering, warmth, personal adornment, and even to display personal wealth. Today fabrics are still used for these purposes and everyone is an ultimate consumer. Depending upon whether we use different types of fabric such as we use woolen for winter, cotton for summer, etc. We also use an umbrella and raincoat to protect us from rain. These are also made from other types of fabric which are commonly called Textile. Here these two words Textile and Fabric make us confuse. Now we are going to differentiate between these two words to make us clear.

Textile Vs Fabric

Textile

Though by actual meaning it defines woven fabric, it can be defined as the woven or knitted fabric made from yarn. It can also be applied to fibre, yarn, fabric, or any other product made from these combinations. It is also associated with clothing production. The raw material of textile is fibre which may be natural, man-made, or regenerated.

Fabric

Fabrics are the products made by using different techniques such as weaving, knitting, crocheting, etc. Most of the fabrics are knitted or woven, but there is also another type of fabric named non-woven fabric. Non-woven fabrics are produced by braiding, felting, twisting. However, all around the globe, fabric refers to the cloth that is used for making dresses.
