Basic T-shirt Consumption Calculator
T-shirt Fabric Consumption Calculator
If you’re in the garment industry, you know how important it is to calculate fabric consumption accurately. Whether you’re a merchandiser, designer, or factory owner, getting the numbers right can save you time, money, and resources. But let’s be honest-fabric consumption calculations can be tricky, especially if you’re dealing with different units like centimeters and inches.
That’s why we’ve created a T-Shirt Fabric Consumption Calculator to make your life easier. In this article, we’ll walk you through how to use it, why it’s important, and how it can help you streamline your production process.
Why Fabric Consumption Matters
Fabric consumption is the backbone of garment production. It determines how much fabric you need to produce a specific number of T-shirts. Getting it right is crucial because:
- Cost Efficiency: Accurate calculations help you avoid over-ordering fabric, which can lead to unnecessary expenses.
- Production Planning: Knowing the exact fabric requirement ensures smooth production without delays.
- Sustainability: Reducing fabric waste is not only good for your budget but also for the environment.
But here’s the catch—manual calculations can be time-consuming and prone to errors. That’s where our T-Shirt Fabric Consumption Calculator comes in handy.
How the Calculator Works
Our calculator is designed to be simple, accurate, and user-friendly. Here’s how it works:
- Select Your Unit: Choose between centimeters (cm) and inches (inch) based on your preference or buyer requirements.
- Enter Measurements: Input the body length, sleeve length, 1/2 chest width, armhole, and allowance (AL) for the T-shirt.
- Add Fabric Details: Enter the fabric weight (GSM) and the quantity of T-shirts you want to produce.
- Include Wastage: Add a wastage percentage to account for any fabric loss during production.
- Choose Per Dozen Option: If you want to calculate consumption per dozen, simply toggle the option.
- Get Results: The calculator will instantly show you the fabric consumption per T-shirt and the total consumption.
Size Wise Measurement Chart All Measurement in CM
Measurement Point | S | M | L | XL | XXL | Allowance |
Body Length (HPS) | 66 | 70 | 74 | 78 | 82 | 6 |
Sleeve Length | 18 | 22 | 24 | 26 | 28 | 6 |
1/2 Chest Width | 45 | 50 | 53 | 55 | 58 | 6 |
Armhole | 16 | 18 | 20 | 22 | 24 | 6 |
Basic T-shirt Consumption Calculation Formulas:
Formula – 01 (Centimeters):
Consumption (kg) = [{Body Length + Sleeve Length + (AL × 2)} × {1/2 Chest Width + Armhole + (AL × 1.5)} × 2 × 12 × GSM] / (100 × 100 × 1000)
Formula – 02 (Inches):
Consumption (kg) = [{Body Length + Sleeve Length + (AL × 2)} × {1/2 Chest Width + Armhole + (AL × 1.5)} × 2 × 12 × GSM] / (39.37 × 39.37 × 1000)
Notes:
1 Meter = 100 CM or, 39.37″
AL= Has to add 6 cm as allowance for each part
2 = Each item has two part of a T-shirt
1000 = As we convert it to KG. Thus 1000 has inputted as a unit
